At Women’s Healthy Hearts, our mission is to empower women to take control of their heart health and prevent heart disease, the leading cause of death among women in Canada.
Heart disease claims more lives than all cancers combined, yet many women remain unaware of their unique risks and symptoms.
Heart health is different for women. Women’s hearts are not only smaller but also react differently to stress, lifestyle factors, and treatments. The warning signs of a heart attack can also be subtler in women, often mistaken for less serious issues like indigestion or fatigue.
Unfortunately, most heart health research has traditionally focused on men, leaving critical gaps in understanding how best to diagnose, treat, and prevent heart disease in women.
At Women’s Healthy Hearts, we are dedicated to closing this gap. We focus on raising awareness, promoting research specific to women, and providing resources to help women recognize the unique symptoms and risk factors they face.
By partnering with top medical experts and advocating for better heart health education, we aim to ensure that every woman knows her risks and has the tools she needs to protect her heart.
We believe that by understanding the differences in heart health between men and women, we can help save lives. Join us in our mission to educate, prevent, and advocate for healthier hearts for all women.
